Basik Cafe, San Francisco

(Pictured: Forager Bowl)

Basik Cafe is anything but basic. Their acai bowls are a bit pricey ($14 for a large!) but they are so worth it. This is the Forager bowl and it’s my favorite at Basik. The blend is acai, cacao, and cashew mylk, topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, cashews, cacao nibs, and honey. It’s a delightful blend of healthy and hearty and can be a whole meal in itself. I tend to order the large because I really do get full off of it and don’t need to eat again for hours and hours. I love the way they layer the granola in the acai. I’ve had other acai bowls where the blend becomes so watery that you can’t even eat it. Not at Basik. Somehow the blend stays thick while you chow down on the fruits and nuts. Basik is great for a quick meal.
