Mensho Tokyo, San Francisco

(Pictured: Shio Ramen)

The first U.S. location of Mensho Tokyo opened up earlier this year! Good ramen shops are pretty scarce in the city, so this is a treat for San Franciscans. Venturing to San Jose or the East Bay to eat is something I rarely do, so I have very few options for tasty ramen. I’ve been to Mensho twice so far and I’ve waited in that dreaded line. Luckily if your whole party isn’t there when you’re seated, you can order for them first. Pictured here is the Shio Ramen. I really liked this broth compared to the Tori Paitan broth. This was much lighter than the Tori Paitan. You can order double chashu, but it costs an extra $2. Overall, Mensho is one of the best ramen shops in the city. Just by judging the line, you know it’s going to be worth it.
